Dans un article \u00e9logieux du magazine sportif Miroir-sprint en date du 8 juin 1954 il y apparait dans les premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes de cette course. Un portait d\u00e9taill\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sente comme un solide gaillard, 1m73, 72 kilos, un buste large et la taille fine, son front l&rsquo;\u00e9germent d\u00e9garni de cheveux blonds  flous, \u00ab\u00a0trahit\u00a0\u00bb apparemment ses 24 ans.  Il est n\u00e9, en effet, le 27 Avril 1930 \u00e0 Bl\u00e9nod, dans l&rsquo;Yonne.
