Ziem, l\u2019excellent peintre, \u00e0 un de nos confr\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le fr\u00e8re de M. Casimir-Perier \u00e9tat en relations suivies avec Corot. Il vint, un jour de 1875, le trouver \u00c0 Barbizon, an moment o\u00f9 le grand artiste mettait la derni\u00e8re main \u00e0 sa Biblis (des Nymphes dans les bois, au Soleil Couchant). Enthousiasm\u00e9 de cette \u0153uvre, o\u00f9 Ia po\u00e9sie du sujet le disputait \u00e0 la science du peintre, il voulut s\u2019en rendre acqu\u00e9reur :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab Je vous c\u00e8de ma toile, dit l\u2019artiste, \u00e0 une condition, c\u2019est que vous payez le boucher o\u00f9 le boulanger de mon ami de mon ami Millet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est convenu ! reprit M. Perier, un peu \u00e9tonn\u00e9 de cette bizarre condition.<br>Bien vite on alla r\u00e9clamer, \u00e0 Chailly, les notes des deux fournisseurs : L\u2019une se montait \u00e0 Vingt-deux mille francs et l\u2019autre \u00e0 vingt-quatre. Le cr\u00e9dit durait depuis douze ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perier paya sans sourciller. Son Corot lui revenait \u00e0 quarante-six mille francs !
